Shoutout to Miranda Preistley, Nigel & the Runway Magazine team for selecting plaid from that pile of stuff in that room. I’m forever grateful and officially obsessed.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been on an almost too intense quest to find the perfect plaid; a pattern specifically to my taste. Not too dark, not too grey, just right. With countless remakes and variations that have done nothing but cloud my judgement, I must admit it has been quite a mission. Although, I have been significantly critical.
I think I’ve finally succeeded though.
Welcome to my plaid phase.
SHE DANCED & SHE PLAID
Honestly, I reluctantly bought this crop as I wasn’t quite sure how to style it without the matching pants at first. Now, I can't get enough of it. I love the neutral colour palette of this look. Notice each piece in this outfit has unique and intricate detail; important additions to any wardrobe. For a more casual look, you can actually pair the crop with a high waisted mom jeans and sneakers.
I’m really into mixing patterns right now and achieving the right clash so I added a vibrant scarf. I feel the colours perfectly accent the top and bring the entire look together. I also feel pretty lucky that Brisbane doesn’t get that cold so I was able to wear this during the day (sorry to everyone else across Australia).

This blazer is my perfect plaid. I hope you find yours too. It ticks all the boxes for me. I wanted light grey with little brown accents so I could pair it with a range of neutral colours.
I'm still in the process of building my wardrobe. I would have liked to pair this look with nude pumps but I'm not quite there yet. You can replace the sexy low cut blouse in this look with a simple white t-shirt too.

Manning Cartell Luxe Intent L/S Top $349.00
DOF x Manning Cartell Sneakers $249.00
Well plaid Manning Cartell, well plaid. A classic take on the usual grey plaid pattern. I LIVE for these pants, they are my staple. I had them altered short enough to wear casually without heels. Perfectly paired with a t-shirt for a casual look or a low cut silk blouse for a night out.
In my opinion, this combination exudes a relaxed and effortless vibe which is the essence of my fashion sense. I've intentionally tucked one side of the shirt in as it is quite oversized and could be overpowering if left untucked or completely tucked. With half the buttons undone to show just the right amount of skin, add a simple nude pump and some gold hoops for a sexier look. Maybe a gold chain if you're a jewellery kind of girl. For something more casual, pair the look with some simple flats.
